Off the back of recent discussions on what distro to start out on ... I was wondering if anyone has a home (possibly media) server setup using linux that they'd care to share information about?

Personally I've not got one .... yet. I do however have an old-ish PC and a few 500Gb hdd's so I'm toying with making it a project.

Hi,

I am running a simple Media Server of Ubuntu 8.10 using IceCast [http://www.icecast.org/]

It's a Pentium 4 with 256M RAM and 250G hard disk. Nothing fancy but serves the purpose very well.
