Defragmenting not working in Windows 7

Hello people!!

I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. But, now I am having an issue in defragmenting my Hard disk in Windows 7.

in win 7 the HD will not de-frag until the next time you start up. hit the option to de-frag then restart the computer. it will then de-frag.

You have to restart the system. When system restarted choose the disk which you want to de-fragment and start defragmentation. Until you restart your system after boot up or installation of your new windows 7 you will be unable to perform this task.
