Hello all,

I have got a quick question here on IMAP pst file backup in Outlook 2003; basically I want to move imap pst from its default local drive (i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\userid\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\xxx.pst) to a new location, which is similar idea as in moving a POP3 pst file;

After some research online, I have done so far just moved the pst file from C: to a new location then launched Outlook to look for its new location; however, an error pop up "The sets of the folders cannot be opened". Anyone got any ideas please?

Thanks very much in advance,
Calv

Just create a new data file and then re-sync with the new location. I don't think you can re-sync a data file because the tags all go to C:

Something like pop3 doesn't matter because the emails are downloaded to the datafile itself.

Hi Calv,

As per my knowledge, the default location of pst file is C drive. You can move anywhere, you just need to change the location in outlook. I dont think it has any relation with POP or IMAP. These are the kind of account. Both make same pst file.
