I'm under the impression that anyone who has an ipad or iphone can access internet from it for free. Is that right? If so, who pays for that internet? Is there a download limit?

I believe I understand what wi-fi is. Internet that doesnt require a dial-up connection (it always runs) BUT you need a password so you can access it, and the usage is charged to whoever owns it. But what is 3G and how does it work?

Thanks

3G is a term that refers to a cellular phone standard. So, an iPad with 3G connectivity uses a cellular connection using hardware built into the device. You pay for the service through your cell service provider.
