I was just wondering what type of role the Macintosh can play in Forensics/Network Security? Are there any specific software packages that are available for OSX that deal specifically with Computer Forensic Research or Network Security?
Thanks in advance.

I can't think of any specific forensic tools per se, I am sure there are some Mac ones out there but for the most part the tools are either built in a Linux live CD or a Windows analysis system.
I am a Mac user and I don't need any any specific Windows tool, for the most part I use OTS tools or write something myself. I do use Windows tools though, some tools just haven't been ported.
