We have a peer-to-peer LAN with fifteen pc's and two Mac G5s.

All machines have fixed IP addresses.

My problem concerns one of the G5s. It can see all of the other computers on the network, and can access the Internet, so I know it's connected.

But- none of the other computers can see it, not even the other G5. I can't ping it, either.

How can it be connected and see the network, if I can't ping it from any of the other computers?

Have you tried turning off the firewall in OS X? Played with the sharing settings?

I tested between my PC and powerbook and it didn't seem to make a difference if the firewall was on or off (I can ping the powerbook from the PC either way), and I'm using DHCP, but that would be my first step. Sorry if you're beyond that point already Smile
