Hi,

I have a user with a laptop running XP SP3. We have a Windows 2003 Domain and an Exchange 2003 environment.

This user can update his outlook fine when he is at the office connected to our network, however at his house connected via VPN outlook will not update with current emails. It shows being connected to exchange but will not download current emails.

I have also noticed that when i try to run gpresult i get an Access Denied Error. When I run RSOP.MSC it says Critical Error.

The laptop is logging events 1054, 1030, 1065, and 1095 with source userenv.

I have worked on this thing for hours and am completely stumped.
I would appreciate any and all help!

Thanks

Time for my first stupid question (tm) of the day:

Can other users access their Outlook this way?

Is the user set up in any odd way eg using POP to colect emails rather than just a normal synch to cached mode OST file via MAPI?

Yes I have a few other people that access their email via VPN everyday without a hitch.

This user is setup like everyone else through a normal sync with exchange in cached mode. No POP or IMAP.

Also this started after the motherboard was replaced under warranty. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I was unable to find a solution to this. I ended up wiping the OS and reinstalling. Works fine now.

I have heard about numerous softwares which work with outlook emails. But some time ago I run against the problem with my outlook messages. To my good fortune I am acquainted with my friend-programmer who offered me the solution of my issue. It assisted me simply and I hope would be usable here as well - corrupted pst file utility.
