My first post on "this side" of the forums - I mod over in the Security
area primarily. Nice to meet you all.

I won't go into various flavors of software on my machine since the
problem is so tightly isolated and appears/disappears with a common configuration.

Have gone through all the Internet Options settings and they are correct.
Went through all the registry hacks and tricks stopping service and
renaming folders.

Searched almost innumerable tricks to no avail.

The scoop in more technical terms is the pulldown menu for recently
visited websites on the address bar (Typedurls). It functions just fine in
IE7. The moment I install IE8 it stopped working. Clicking on the pulldown
arrow results in nothing.

The funniest thing is that when I uninstall IE8 the system remembers all
the previous "typedurls" and the pulldown displays them.

Am VERY frustrated and have scoured resources for over two days now.

Hoping someone here can lend a hand.

Best regards,
Mongrel, CISSP, CISM

PS - when did SpelChek become a popup advertisement?
