Hey all,

I'm helping a buddy out with a bit of techie work for a local charity over the Christmas period and need some recommendations on setting up their DNS server.

Situation is they are a tiny place and can only afford a single server so it's an "eggs in one basket" setup unfortunately. I'm not used to dealing with such small networks so could do with some best practice settings for a single DNS server.

for example: should forwarders be set or just use the root hints?

Sounds like a good scenario for SBS. For our small clients we setup two forwarders, one to the ISP's DNS and a backup to Google DNS.
